This earthy and hypercrafted reed pen stand has been carefully woven using water reed kauna grass. Multi-functional in nature, this pen stand could also double up as a candle holder on any table! The process of crafting offerings made of kauna grass begins with the cultivation of kauna, a perennial grass-like plant. The grass grows to a height of around 6 feet or more and is cut when at its full height. It is dried thoroughly as the spongy inner portion of the stem has to be completely dry to prevent mold. The grass is either kept in its natural color or dyed in bright colors to highlight the natural shade. This pen stand stands out boldly in its natural shade! Artisans use humble handheld tools for weaving and stitching the grass. It is not just sustainable but also fosters the lives of artisans. The fact that the offering is eco-friendly, durable, handmade, vegan, and made using one material only, increases its artisanal value ten folds!
